Motherhood is the most noble calling...

Our beautiful daughter has finally made her debut :) Been MIA but with good reasons. I have never been so busy in my life before LOL! Bordem will never reside in my life EVER! For the past few months my time & my life has been consumed with diapers, breastpumps, feedings, baby laundry & the best of all spending every waking moment with my beautiful daughter, Anelaokalani Taionala Maile!
Thursday morning March 31, 2011, Dr. Berry notified us that she would have to be born asap & that they will be inducing me that morning. We called checked in with L&D (labor & delivery) @ Maui Memorial Medical Center then quickly made our way to the hospital. After checking in we were rushed upstairs & once we were settled the drugs were administered & the clock was ticking. We thought since they wanted her out soon that once we got in we would soon have the baby. After the inducing drugs started to kick in the contractions started & oh yes tons of pains :) Dr. Berry came in checked me out & broke my water & we waited and waited and waited....eternity already I thought LOL! When you're pregnant & it's that time all you can focus on is getting the baby out & meeting he or she. After waiting for 9hrs I had only dialated to a "1". My blood pressure was climbing sky high & the baby started to experience some discomfort and stress causing her heartbeat to drop dramatically. I was immediately given oxygen & Dr. Berry felt a C-Section was my best opiton at that point in delivering the baby...35 minutes later, we had a our beautiful baby girl, Anelaokalani Taionala Maile. Born March 31, 2011 @ 6:19pm. 6lbs 11oz, 21 & 1/2in.
I'm so grateful to be her mother & to have had the opportunity to bring her into this world. The moment I laid eyes on her I was hooked forever! I couldn't stop staring at her & didn't sleep much while in the hospital. I just had to stay awake & let all that greatness sink in. These past few months have been challenging with trying to figure out the "cries", sleeping schedules, eating schedules etc., but I wouldn't change a thing. I've waited so long for this opportunity to be a mother & I'm running with it full force! Daddy & Cowboy are very helpful with the baby & now the household is even, 2 boys, 2 girls...the lil Hafoka Clan is finally complete. After waiting for 10 months for her arrival we finally have her here.
Who knows what the future holds or where this journey will take us. We're just grateful to have each other & looking forward to making many many memories with our beautiful daughter...We love you Baby Nala!
